Virus | All!
project, production Kinkaleri – 2013/2020 | curated, led by Marco Mazzoni
Virus is a movement workshop about the transmission of the K-code – the gestural vocabulary invented by Kinkaleri – that translates each letter of the alphabet into movement. The perception of motion is altered by assuming the letters as a form producing movement; the player starts talking by dancing, and gets to think of the movement as an ever-changing dynamic flow of gestures/words. The player is always in an active context where the gestural alphabet is not a form to imitate but a place to be. A dynamic/verbal here and now that – like a calligraphy – gets exhibited personally not avoiding the resulting forms: the idea of moving gets redefined. It is a physical action of transmission that – though elementary – gets modelled on the different individuals: children, teenagers, dancers, performers, non-professionals, and it activates every time new strategies of movement; Virus, Virus Kids, Virus Teen, Virus20.
